Matthew Watson

Senior Director, Major Projects

Matthew Watson serves as Sr. Director, Major Projects for Tidal Basin Group. Before joining Tidal Basin, Matthew was the Director of Emergency Management and Process Controls for Safework CM, providing emergency management consulting services to government leaders.

Matthew has been an emergency and project management professional and disaster government consultant for over 12 years. During that time, he served as the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement and Global Security Operations Center for Amazon, and a Senior Consultant for the Winsor Consult Group where he served as an Engagement Manager and Closeout SME on the Puerto Rico R3 Program and served as a Team Leader for the CDBG-DR program for the Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR). He also served as a volunteer with Team Rubicon in the Incident Commander, Planning Section Chief, and Operations Section Chief roles, where he supported numerous disaster responses across the country.

Before working in emergency management, Matthew held several positions in the healthcare field, including Senior Director of Operations and Project Management in Managed Health Services for Centene Corp and Director of Business Process Management at CareSource Healthcare.

In addition, Matthew served in the United States Marine Corps for nine years and with the Kentucky Army National Guard for four years.

Matthew holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University and is currently working to obtain his master’s degree in Disaster Management from the American Military University. Matthew is a certified project manager and a Six Sigma Black Belt from Xavier University.
