Daylen Docampo Perez

Daylen Docampo Perez is the Senior Vice President and Chief Legal Counsel for Michael Baker International’s MER3 (Mitigation, Environmental, Response, Recovery & Resiliency) business vertical, which unites Tidal Basin Group, MLU Services, and Michael Baker’s EMR (Emergency Management & Response) team. She oversees all corporate and contractual legal matters. Daylen provides legal advice to Tidal Basin Group (TBG) and its affiliated companies, including MLU Services, and supports all TBG corporate and operating functions. Her responsibilities include contract drafting, review and negotiation, litigation management, and compliance management.

She joined Tidal Basin Group from the Office of the City Attorney in Hialeah, Florida, where she served as Assistant City Attorney. Her practice areas while with the City of Hialeah included contract, corporate, municipal, and procurement law. During her time there, she represented and provided legal advice to the City on all matters related to its operations, with a special focus on purchasing, emergency management, planning and zoning, code compliance, and public works, among others. She also drafted and negotiated city agreements of all kinds, including those necessary to secure needed resources for the efficient operation of the municipal government, including the bidding process for those resources in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. 

Before her work with the City of Hialeah, Daylen was an associate attorney at a law firm servicing the residential mortgage default and foreclosure industry, where she represented national lenders, servicers, and creditors in residential foreclosure cases. She also has experience as a legal extern and clerk with a major international television channel based in Latin America. 

While completing her juris doctorate at Florida International University’s College of Law, she was a certified legal intern at the Immigrant Children’s Justice Clinic and a student attorney at the Health, Ethics, Law, and Policy Clinic. Daylen is a member of the Florida State Bar and the City, County, and Local Government Law Section of the Florida Bar.
