
Gregory (Greg) Parsons is the Senior Vice President and Director of Information Technology for Michael Baker International’s MER (mitigation, environmental, response, recovery and resiliency) business vertical, which unites Tidal Basin Group, MLU Services, and Michael Baker’s EMR (emergency management and response) team. He previously served as Tidal Basin Group’s Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) prior to the integration of Tidal Basin with Michael Baker. Greg brings a wealth of experience from his distinguished 30-year career in technology and executive leadership. He has a proven track record of spearheading significant technological transformations across industries such as travel, logistics, healthcare, hospitality, retail, and telecommunications.
Greg graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He furthered his education in software engineering through graduate studies at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Starting his career in the United States Army, Greg served as a Staff Officer and Combat Platoon Leader in the 1st Cavalry Division during the Gulf War (Desert Storm). This formative military background shaped his leadership and strategic acumen, qualities he has carried into the corporate world.
His corporate journey includes pivotal roles at several prominent organizations, including Sabre, where he served as the division Chief Technology Officer (CTO), led a global team, managed a portfolio that generated $3.5 billion in revenue, and achieved significant cost reductions and enhanced system capabilities by migrating over 10,000 servers to hybrid cloud environments.
Before Sabre, he was the Chief Technology Officer at MHMR of Tarrant County TX, where he revitalized an outdated technology infrastructure and aligned it with state and federal requirements. Prior to that, he worked at Jericho Systems as the Chief Technology Officer, collaborating with the US Department of Defense (DoD), the National Security Agency (NSA), and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) on cutting-edge software engineering projects.
Greg also founded #ifdef Software, Inc., serving as the President and CTO. He was instrumental in designing and implementing technology solutions for small-cap businesses, showcasing his versatility and entrepreneurial spirit.
Greg’s commitment to continuous personal growth is reflected in his diverse interests and achievements. He is an FCC-licensed Amateur Radio Operator, an Instrument-Rated Pilot, and an NAUI-certified Master SCUBA Diver, showcasing his versatility and intriguing the audience with his commitment to personal growth.
