Heather Stickler, PMP

Vice President, Senior Director of Marketing & Communications


Heather Stickler is the Vice President and Senior Director of Marketing and Communications for Michael Baker International’s MER3 (Mitigation, Environmental, Response, Recovery & Resiliency) business vertical, which unites Tidal Basin Group, MLU Services, and Michael Baker’s EMR (Emergency Management & Response) team. She previously served as the Chief Marketing Officer for Tidal Basin Group and MLU Services prior to the integration with Michael Baker. She has over 30 years of experience in marketing, communications, proposal management, business development, capture management, and program/project management.

She also served for 15 years in technical roles in civil engineering and sustainable design. She brings a wealth of experience in disaster recovery, emergency management, and the A/E/C industries – serving clients worldwide across all sectors, with a focus on government, commercial, healthcare, education, retail, and transportation. 

She previously served as Vice President of Marketing and Proposal organizations for well-known global emergency management and engineering firms. She builds and leads marketing and proposal teams to support and execute growth strategies that increase brand awareness and generate leads to drive market share and revenue. She develops integrated marketing and business development strategies with key stakeholders to reinforce the value proposition, market positioning, core and targeted messaging, innovative thought leadership, and lead-generation campaigns. 

Heather has a B.S. in Business Management and holds certifications as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Professional Certified Marketer (PCM), Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP), and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP). She serves on the Forbes Communications Council and the Senior Executive CMO Think Tank, contributing to expert panels and sharing marketing and communications insights. She is also a member of the CMO Council, C-Sweet, the American Marketing Association (AMA), the Digital Marketing Institute (DMI), the Association of Proposal Management Professionals (APMP), the Society of Marketing Professional Services (SMPS), and numerous other industry associations. She has earned numerous honors and awards throughout her career, including the Built x Women (BxW) D.C. Award for her work as the lead civil engineer for an affordable housing community built in Washington, D.C.
