Christopher (Chris) Hartnett joins Tidal Basin Group as the Northeast Regional Vice President, equipped with a remarkable 30-year background in law enforcement, emergency, and disaster management. His expertise is deeply rooted in significant leadership roles, including impactful positions at FEMA and with the New Jersey State Police. Hartnett’s career is marked by dedicated service and strategic oversight across federal and state levels, showcasing a strong foundation in managing complex emergencies and recovery operations.

In his most recent accomplishments before joining Tidal Basin, Hartnett led pivotal recovery operations for the City of New York, navigating the challenges of Hurricane Sandy, COVID-19, and Hurricane Ian as a Project Manager. His tenure at FEMA further highlights his skillset, where he served as Region 2 Public Assistance (PA) Branch Chief among other roles, directing a team responsible for over 35 disaster close-outs and managing Preliminary Damage Assessments (PDAs) and Public Assistance grants. This experience is complemented by his leadership in the U.S. Virgin Islands following Hurricanes Maria and Irma, where he played a key role in the territory’s response and recovery efforts.

Before stepping into the national spotlight, Hartnett was instrumental in New Jersey’s response to Hurricane Sandy as the Director of the New Jersey Sandy Recovery Office, coordinating essential grant programs for recovery. His foundational experiences include over two decades with the New Jersey State Police and the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, where he honed his skills in emergency management and disaster response. Hartnett’s commitment to excellence and strategic vision are poised to significantly bolster Tidal Basin’s initiatives in the Northeast, as he brings unparalleled expertise and leadership to advance the organization’s mission in disaster management and recovery services.
