The NACo Annual Conference brings together county officials, administrators, and staff to focus on federal policy, emerging trends, and operational challenges. Sessions cover infrastructure, health, justice, budgeting, and workforce development. The agenda is built around the work counties are doing right now, with a focus on results, funding, and implementation. Attendees gain practical insight from peers and national policy leaders with direct relevance to local government.

Philadelphia operates as a consolidated city-county, which gives it a unique structure that mirrors challenges many counties face. Aging infrastructure, diverse populations, and the pressure to modernize while preserving legacy systems are all part of the local government context here. Attendees will be surrounded by examples of the same operational complexity they manage in their own jurisdictions.

If this is your first time at a NACo conference, expect to be in the room with decision-makers who are actually implementing programs, not just talking about them. You’ll find county executives, budget officers, planners, and legal staff discussing policies they’ve tested and refined. The sessions are accessible, grounded, and relevant. You don’t need to be a policy expert to walk away with something useful.

The National Association of Counties is the key organization representing county governments across the U.S., advocating for local priorities in federal policy and providing direct support to counties through training, resources, and best practice sharing. The NACo conference reflects the organization’s focus on real-world impact and its ongoing efforts to ensure counties have the tools they need to serve their communities.

Founded in 1935, the National Association of Counties serves as the only national organization representing county governments in the United States. NACo advocates for county priorities in federal policymaking, promotes exemplary county policies and practices, and provides resources to enhance public understanding of county government. The organization unites nearly 40,000 county elected officials and 3.6 million county employees, aiming to strengthen America’s counties and improve the lives of their residents.
