Please join us in welcoming Amy Baker, PE, PMP, CFM, to the Tidal Basin family! Amy is a Senior Vice President and will be leading our new Project Management Office (PMO). In this role, Amy will oversee the development and operation of the PMO which will provide support to operational and functional teams throughout the company. The PMO is responsible for defining, developing and maintaining project management standards, processes, guidance, and toolsets to help with effectiveness of program and project management and will also aid with resource and contract management, and large program logistics and management.
Amy is a program management professional with more than 23 years of experience in engineering design and consultation. In addition to her program and project management skillsets, she has deep expertise in planning, environmental design, technical assistance, and grants management. Most recently, she served as Associate Vice President and a regional market sector lead for federal work in the water business unit of a global Fortune 500 engineering firm. While there she managed projects, business development efforts, and daily operations with clients such as FEMA, DHS, NOAA, USCG, NIST, and DOI in support of a $750+ million portfolio of contracts. She has served as a manager in hazard mitigation program assistance, community resilience projects, and capture and as a SME in recovery, resilience, and funding strategies.
Her previous work includes roles as Senior Division Manager, Calverton Maryland Office Lead, Program Director, Program Development Manager, Planning and Policy Integration Team Lead (Acting), Project Manager and Emergency Planning Analyst, and Engineer and Planner at other major engineering firms. One of the numerous projects she supported during her time as a Senior Division Manager was a $22.5 million housing recovery contract in Puerto Rico following Hurricane Maria.
Amy holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) in Civil Engineering. She is also a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana, Texas, and South Carolina; a certified Project Management Professional (PMP); and a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM).
