About The Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) Conference

Every year, the Association of State Floodplain Managers (ASFPM) hosts a conference for floodplain management professionals and affiliated organizations. From May 18-22, 2025, floodplain managers, government officials, and industry professionals will gather in New Orleans, Louisiana, for the ASFPM Conference 2025.

The conference offers valuable solutions, discussions on flood risk, and strategies to tackle today’s floodplain challenges. Attendees can renew their floodplain manager certification by participating in conference sessions and meeting the necessary requirements.

Join Tidal Basin team members and partners for the session “Community-Driven Resilience: The Relocation and Mitigation Strategies of Newtok, Alaska.” This session highlights how adaptation, collaboration, and innovation reshaped a community facing severe environmental threats. Attendees will explore the relocation of the Yupik tribe, the creation of a sustainable new village, and lessons in overcoming complex logistical challenges.
