Helping Puerto Ricans Recover Sooner!

Hurricane Maria — a powerful Category 4 hurricane with 150 mph winds — made direct landfall on Puerto Rico. Our emergency response was immediate.

The island, still suffering from the effects of Hurricane Irma, suffered catastrophic hurricane damage and was without electricity, water, telecommunications or transportation systems. Numerous homes were destroyed, and more than 166,0001 homes needed repair or reconstruction. To assist in their disaster recovery, Rising Phoenix Holding Corporation (RPHC), Tidal Basin’s parent company, assembled a team of partners with thousands of staff, including numerous Puerto Rican residents, to provide emergency services and emergency management. Many of our dedicated professionals continue to reside on the island and will be there for as long as our disaster recovery assistance is needed.

  • Rising Phoenix Holdings Corporation (RPHC), Tidal Basin’s parent company, is proud to be using our decades of experience in disaster recovery to accelerate the recovery process across Puerto Rico. We have made extraordinary progress over the last 10 months with the Tu Hogar Renace program, helping to manage the FEMA STEP program which will return homeowners to their homes, and are proud to have been selected as one of four companies to administer the Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR). While our immediate work with the Tu Hogar Renace program has thus far helped tens of thousands of Puerto Rico residents with their urgent housing needs, we look forward to the CDBG-DR project which will make the island stronger and more resilient.
