Natural disasters and food insecurity are directly connected. Hurricane Fiona’s landfall in Puerto Rico in late September has weakened food security and severely impact agricultural activities. To assist in the recovery, Tidal Basin Caribe recently donated $5,000 to Comedores Sociales, a local nonprofit focused on addressing and preventing hunger across the island.
“Comedores Sociales works hard every day to make sure that everyone has access to food, especially during hard times,” said Jose Valenzuela, Vice President and Director of Tidal Basin Caribe.
“It is our privilege to help them with their noble mission, making sure that no one is left hungry.”
