Angela Lawson serves as a Director of Grants & Program Management at Tidal Basin. With over fourteen years of experience, she specializes in resiliency planning, policy, and regulatory compliance. Her expertise encompasses working with local and state governments to implement resilient initiatives and policies across recovery, public services, adaptation, infrastructure, and housing sectors. She is recognized as a subject matter expert in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR), where she has directed several high-profile projects, including policy development and implementation for economic recovery programs in Puerto Rico and resilience planning in Louisiana.
Before her current role, Angela was a Director of Resilience & Policy, as well as a Senior Project Manager at Tidal Basin, contributing significantly to policy and business development. Her notable projects include leading the development of a COVID-19 After Action Report for the Commonwealth of Virginia and managing the Action Plan Development for the Association of County Commissions of Alabama.
Certified in regulatory compliance and adept at community outreach, Angela has developed program policies and procedures that ensure alignment with federal and local regulations, including the Fair Housing Act and Uniform Relocation Act. Her work has not only influenced policy changes but has also fostered resilient communities across the United States.
Angela holds a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Illinois, Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Florida.
