Tidal Basin’s Crystal Kline Publishes Article, “COVID-19 Highlights Best Emergency Preparedness Approach: Lead by Example”

Tidal Basin’s Preparedness Specialist, Crystal Kline recently published an article entitled "COVID-19 Highlights Best Emergency Preparedness Approach: Lead by Example" in the "Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management" on De Gruyter’s website.

Crystal takes readers on her personal journey when COVID-19 struck and the startling realization that even as an emergency preparedness specialist herself, she was unprepared in the face of a global pandemic. Kline urges industry professionals to lead by example, offer simple solutions instead of overwhelming amounts of information, and to reassure people and communities that it is never too late to start preparing.

Crystal Kline is a Preparedness Specialist for Tidal Basin's Resiliency-Preparedness and Mitigation Programs. She was Oklahoma’s first female federally certified Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP), is a certified HSEEP Trainer, was an adjunct instructor at FEMA’s Emergency Management Institute in Emmitsburg, MD, and instructor at the University of Oklahoma Resilience Development Institute.
